¿Quién es el traductor jurado?
A certified Spanish translator, also known as an official Spanish translator or sworn Spanish translator, is a professional duly appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Government of Spain to translate documents that require legal validity and attest to the content of these translations.
Each certified Spanish translator (official Spanish translator or certified Spanish translator) is assigned an identification number, called the Número del Traductor e Intérprete Jurado (TIJ) (Sworn translator-interpreter ID). This number must appear on the seal of the certified Spanish translator, together with their full name and the language pair(s) that they work with (in this case, Spanish and English).
This serves to show that translations carried out by the certified Spanish translator (also known as an official Spanish translator) are certified and official.
