Official certified translations
A certified translation is an official translation carried out by a certified translator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. Certified translations are delivered in digital format with the certified translator’s electronic signature or as a hard copy with the translator’s handwritten signature, since the seal and signature are what give the translation official status.
These certified translations are legally valid before any public or private body, and during the same time period as the original document, i.e. if the original certificate is valid for one year, the certified translation of that document will also be valid for one year, and if the document is valid indefinitely, the certified translation that accompanies it will also be valid indefinitely.
